A Safe Summer Message From MRHC Urgent Care

6/10/10

It's summer and the days are long and hot. The kids are out of school, vacations and weekend trips to the lake are planned. It's a busy time! Invariably right before going on one of these summer excursions, someone starts getting a tickle in their throat, a fever sets in, or someone has a bike crash and breaks or sprains something! Sound familiar? That's where MRHC Urgent Care comes to the rescue. We don't take the place of your family doctor, but we are here at those inopportune moments when you can't get in to your physician and you don't need emergency room care…but you need medical care right away.

MRHC Urgent Care, conveniently located in your downtown neighborhood, has been providing care to the McAlester community for more than a year and a half. “Our goal is to provide our community with a safe option to families when they need faster medical care for non-emergencies,” says Jackie Turnbull, ARNP-C. “Services that make our facility especially convenient are the laboratory and x-ray capabilities. If someone comes in with a bad sprain or suspected fracture, we can x-ray it here. If they need lab work, we have that as well. Not all urgent care facilities are able to provide that,” explains Turnbull.

“We also have our medical director, Don Riley, D.O. of Family Care Associates available to us on site most days,” she says. “This provides added expertise and consultation on difficult diagnoses. We want to thank the community for their support since our opening. The MRHC Urgent Care staff wish everyone a safe, healthy summer. But if you need urgent care, come see us. We’re here for you seven days a week,” says Turnbull.
