Licensing and Accreditation

Det Norske Veritas Healthcare, Inc.

McAlester Regional Health Center is accredited by Det Norske Veritas Healthcare Inc. by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is committed to providing safe, quality care to all of our patients.

DNV’s National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) program is the first new federally-approved accreditation program for hospitals in more than 30 years, and offers McAlester Regional Health Center the opportunity to simultaneously satisfy Medicare accreditation requirements and implement the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

The internationally recognized ISO 9001 requirements define the formation and implementation of the Quality Management System. ISO 9001 is the infrastructure of quality that infiltrates every aspect of the organization in order to reach maximum effectiveness and efficiency in its processes leading to improved outcomes, both clinically and financially. ISO 9001 is recognized by businesses around the world as the benchmark for continual quality improvement. Innovative hospitals have started embracing ISO as a way to identify and focus on the most successful approaches to patient care, billing and other critical aspects of running a modern hospital. These two sets of standards form the basis of DNV’s revolutionary Integrated Accreditation concept in NIAHO.
