When it comes to your child, nothing is more significant than your child’s health care needs.

Pediatric Therapy provides outpatient therapy services for children who need a level of care greater than school-based programs. Pediatric therapy focuses on the “occupations” or “jobs” of childhood such as play, socialization, self-care, and school performance.

Our treatment rooms are safe, sensory-appropriate environments equipped with multiple games, sensory swing, balance platform, tumble form area, climbing wall, and more.  Integrated Listening Systems (iLs) is available for sensory integration in conjunction with therapy.

Pediatric Outpatient Therapy is valuable for children who:

  • have experienced serious injuries
  • have chronic and acute conditions that limit their development
  • are experiencing developmental delays (e.g., walking or speaking late)
  • have learning difficulties
  • have trouble performing activities of daily living (e.g., bathing or dressing)

About our Outpatient Therapy Team

  • A team of specialists will evaluate each child and then an individualized treatment plan will be formulated. Specialists involved in your child’s therapy may include:

Speech-Language Pathologist work with children experiencing developmental delays. In speech/language skills, motor speech disorders, cognitive impairments, and fluency issues. Speech Pathologists assess how children communicate with the world by evaluating both understanding and use of language, as well as addressing feeding and swallowing abilities, oral motor skills and respiration. Speech Pathologists also serve children with hearing loss, central auditory processing disorder, and offer feeding therapy programs.

Physical therapists work with infants and children to enhance flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, endurance, gross motor skills, and mobility through play and exercise.

Occupational therapists evaluate fine motor, play, sensory processing and self-care skills in infants and children with a variety of diagnoses and levels of disabilities. Occupational therapists aim to maximize functional independence by teaching adaptive techniques and using adaptive equipment. Additionally, occupational therapists evaluate and treat feeding difficulties, improving tolerance for tastes and textures, as well as self-feeding habits.

Physical and occupational therapists address congenital muscular torticollis, traumatic brain injuries and other neurological problems, developmental delays, orthopedic injuries, gross and fine motor difficulties.

Pediatric therapy is aimed at the unique needs of each individual child and is provided through meaningful activity, to keep the child motivated and invested in the therapeutic process. While pediatric therapy is designed to feel like play to the child, our expertly trained therapists draw from strategies in many specialty areas to build upon your child’s progress.
