3 West

McAlester Regional Health Center’s 22-bed 3 West Unit provides rooms and care for many patients with a variety of health concerns. Our staff looks forward to providing you with compassionate and professional care.

3-West services a number of specialties, including cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, urology, and nephrology. Our team consist of nurses, physicians, CNAs, residents, dietitians, physical therapists, respiratory therapist, social services representatives, case managers, nursing and medical students, and a multitude of other staff who are dedicated to provide you with quality care.

Upon admittance, you should expect to be greeted by your CNA and/or admitting nurse. Your hospitalist will then see you within a few hours, if they haven’t already seen you in the Emergency Room. Our staff wants to make you as comfortable as possible. We will do our best to answer any question you may have. Hospitalist are available and in house for those questions your nurse may be unable to answer. Your communication board will be updated daily to communicate about future testing and other pertinent information. We’ve also ensured hospitalist are available 24 hours a day to provide a continuum of care.

McAlester Regional Health Center’s 3 West team is proud to provide care for you close to home. If you are in need of a higher level of care we can transfer you by ambulance or McAlester Air Care if needed.

2 West

With 23 newly remodeled private rooms, McAlester Regional Health Center’s 2 West staff is able to provide compassionate, personal care to our patients. This surgical unit services Orthopedics, Urology, Podiatry, General Surgery and more for patients of all ages. With a combined experience of over 245 years, you can know that our healthcare staff will provide knowledgeable, caring service.

McAlester Regional Health Center is proud to say that our 2 West Unit has maintained a 99% quality score with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) partnership. The SCIP is a multi-year national campaign to substantially reduce surgical mortality and morbidity through collaborative efforts between healthcare organizations.

Intensive Care Unit

Sometimes, illnesses or injuries can become life threatening, and McAlester Regional Health Center’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is here to help during those times of need.  Our well-trained, committed ICU professionals genuinely care for patients, and are here to provide intensive medical, surgical, and cardiac care for patients who are medically unstable.

We have trained nurses who act as patients’ advocates and assess critical conditions daily, provide intensive therapy and intervention, education, assistance with invasive procedures, hemodynamic and cardiac function monitoring, and operation and maintenance of life support systems. Monitor Technicians also help service McAlester Regional Health Center’s ICU patients, providing important cardiac monitoring.

Case Management

From admission to discharge and beyond, McAlester Regional Health Center’s Case Management Department provides a wide range of assistance and resources to patients and their families. Case Managers are involved in every aspect of your hospitalization, and help ensure a collaborative effort to provide quality care throughout your stay.

The Case Management process emphasizes communication and teamwork between patients, nurses, social workers, physicians, other practitioners, and caregivers in the community. We’re here to provide a continuum of care through effective resource coordination, and hope to achieve optimal health, ensure access to care, and make sure resources are being appropriately utilized.

Sometimes, healthcare needs fall outside of the hospital. Our Case Management Department ensures patients are still receiving quality healthcare where they need it. We can assist with in-home care, or even provide for educational needs for up to 30 days after discharge.
