MRHC Foundation golf tournament, sports auction is Friday
Everything from an autographed Thunder jersey to a Peyton Manning helmet will be up for grabs at McAlester Regional Health Center Foundation’s inaugural Golf Classic and Silent Auction on Friday, June 24. Auction items also include autographed sports articles from athletes representing Oklahoma State University’s Cowboys and University of Oklahoma’s Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Royals.Silent auction bidding will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 24 at the McAlester Country Club. Meanwhile, only eight slots remain open for golf tournament teams. The 4-person scramble will play on a Shotgun Start with par max scoring. Tee time is at noon “We have players coming in from all over,” said MRHC Foundation Director Ryan Gathard. “One guy is flying all the way in from California.” Players will enjoy lunch and dinner, refreshments throughout the day, and several gifts. Prizes include golf bags, backpacks and gym bags. All proceeds from the tournament and auction benefit the MRHC Emergency Center. The Foundation is raising funds to purchase medical equipment for the new $11.8 million Emergency Center, slated for construction in 2017. Groundbreaking is expected this winter.
