MRHC wins in weight loss challenge

 

 

Some of McAlester’s biggest losers won big bucks in a recent Weight Loss Challenge between McAlester Regional Health Center, the City of McAlester and Warren Clinic, losing a combined 1,179 pounds as part of the Taking Shape Pittsburg County health initiative. Over a 3-month period, groups from each facility competed against each other for cash prizes. At MRHC and the City of McAlester, teams also competed for paid time off. Winning cash prizes were top losers Johnathan Muller, MRHC Security, who lost an amazing 20.71 percent of his total weight, and Raleigh White, director of Radiology for MRHC, at 14.68 percent. The biggest losers among women competitors were Sunny Lowe, MRHC Finance, whose 15.73 percent barely edged MRHC RN Amanda Harrell at 15.30 percent. The hospital’s Radiology Department also fielded the top team, losing a combined 9.52 percent of their weight: White, Ramona White, Kristin Murray, and Ashley Ibarra. Taking second place as a team was City of McAlester’s Clint Armstrong, Brett Brewer, Michael Durant and James Vinson, posting an 8.04 percent weight loss. Of the 10 participants at Warren Clinic, Debbie Basinger posted the top loss; there were 27 participants from the City of McAlester, with the top loss there going to Armstrong. There were 104 participants at MRHC who made weight loss their goal for the program.
