Quality Report

McAlester Regional Health Center embraces a culture of safety and quality.  We value our customers and strive to provide services that meet and exceed all expectations.  MRHC is committed to continuous quality improvement through the establishment of a Quality Management System, ISO-9001, which provides the framework for measuring and improving our performance.

MRHC actively participates in numerous state and national lead initiatives for improved outcomes in areas such as quality, safety, efficiency, transparency, and patient centered care.  The Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) is a nationwide initiative focused on reducing preventable hospital-acquired conditions by 40%, and hospital readmissions by 20%.  MRHC has seen a steady decline over the past few years in the readmission rates.  Year to date we are below the national and state average. MRHC is also participating in the Oklahoma Hospital Associations Sepsis Collaborative which is driving change in the recognition and overall treatment of sepsis patients.  Annual participation in the Leapfrog Group, an employer-based coalition advocating for improved transparency, quality, and safety in hospitals. 

MRHC has received Certified Healthy Business recognition, Excellent, for two consecutive years.  This recognition highlights those businesses in Oklahoma that make a positive impact on the health of employees and customers.

Customers can expect that an interdisciplinary team is working collectively throughout ones entire stay to ensure MRHC is providing Quality, Safety, and Best Practice as it relates to one’s overall care.  The Quality Department reviews all patients and the care being provide to ensure that customer is receiving the most appropriate patient centered care.  We embrace family and the important role they have in the care of a loved one.
